Vulnerable Children Champion & Safeguarding Lead

Full Time

(all year round and term time only contracts considered)

Start date: September 2021

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented, experienced, and enthusiastic individual to join us as our Vulnerable Children Champion and Safeguarding Lead.

This new role is to advocate and support our significant cohort of vulnerable children which includes but is not limited to Children Looked After (CLA), Children Previously Looked After (CPLA), children subject to Special Guardianship Orders (SGO) and others. You will work alongside our Headteacher (our DSL) and the Pastoral and Safeguarding team.

This role is not a teaching role and as a result does not require QTS or equivalent. However, there will be opportunities for working alongside the young people your role supports.  The role is full time but will also involve some additional support of the pastoral leads and SENCO until the school reaches capacity and the role becomes a full time position.

You will:

  • have a strong background of working with vulnerable pupils, preferably in a local authority or social care setting
  • have a comprehensive understanding of the latest statutory requirements in keeping young people safe in education
  • be an excellent administrator with close attention to detail
  • oversee and lead CIN, CP, CLA meetings with internal and external professionals
  • be challenging and tenacious in seeking the best possible support and outcomes for our young people and their families
  • have the ability to calmly adapt and prioritise workflow to ensure the safety of our pupils
  • have excellent communication skills - written, verbal and presentation
  • be a strong team player who can build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and external agencies in order to fully meet the support needs of our pupils

Learning Support Assistant (Full Time)

We are looking for a dynamic, compassionate and energetic Learning Support Assistants to join our team.

You will expressly want a career in education. Experience working with children and young people with additional needs is desirable. You will receive high levels of support, training and a competitive salary. Good levels of Maths and English are essential.
