Our First Week

I am delighted to report that all is wonderful in the world of Beech Lodge School!

After a very long holiday the children came back, a little anxious and excited about what the new term would bring them. Our new pupils settled in very well and I hope were made to feel welcome by everybody – you did brilliantly! Our new staff members Kate and Alice threw themselves into their roles with gusto and we are very pleased to have you both on board!

Blossom House looks and feels marvellous. Our older pupils have certainly matured over the summer holiday and being in this new, more ‘grown up’ environment will enable them to truly flourish. They have already experienced Street Dance in the fabulous BCA Dance Studio, and Bongo Drumming with Guy Higgins of Hands On Percussion in the garden. Even Rufus (our Labrador) seems to like the new premises!

With the bigger ones gone, the younger children at Home Farm are enjoying more space to play and a much larger Beech Class with Mr Rider as their class teacher. They seem to have filled that space very quickly and have been creating wonderful decoupage signage which now adorn the doors and thoroughly enjoyed drumming in the Tipi. They made cupcakes which they took up to the pupils and staff at Blossom House and they too were enrolled on to BCA so have their own lanyards to wear when they visit!

All in all it has been a very happy week, well done to everybody and here’s to the next one!
