Planning Application – APPROVED!

Last night we attended the Maidenhead Development Control Panel meeting to determine the outcome of our planning application for our new school site. I am delighted to report that by an overwhelming majority of 9-1 the council voted in favour of our application.

Building on greenbelt is, quite rightly, a controversial issue however it was strongly recognised that we have “Very Special Circumstances” due to the work we do with vulnerable children and the fact that over half of our children are funded by their LEAs. Our application is now referred to the Secretary of State for final approval and we should have an outcome in the coming weeks. We appreciate and recognise the very real concerns of our objectors to building on greenbelt and we will do our level best to liase with the community to ensure that we can work together to help overcome their fears.

A HUGE thank you must go to all our many supporters, parents and friends who came along last night and to those who wrote letters of support, you have been a tremendous source of inspiration to us.

Our proposed new site is at Stubbings Estate, Henley Road, Stubbings, Maidenhead SL6 6QL and we will keep you up to date with developments.

As I said last night….it takes not only a family, but a community to raise a child.
