New Addition to our Advisory Board

Exciting news! We are delighted to welcome the inspirational Gareth Marr on to our Advisory Board. For those of you who tweet you may be aware of his big presence online as @garethmarr particularly in relation to matters concerning adoption and education and his blog #adoptionschoolstrain . Lucky for us he lives locally and has agreed to join our small team. Below is his biography but I hope he will become a familiar face at school and you will get to know him well. He brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise which will be a huge asset to our school.

Gareth Marr. Governor of RBWM Virtual School, Independent Member Berkshire Adoption Panel, Adopter.

Gareth has had a long career in Financial Services, creating and managing a number of well known businesses. He has been Deputy Chairman of a City Regulator and a National Skills Council. Gareth has been concerned to improve the care adopted and other vulnerable children receive in schools and has learnt much from supporting his own adopted son through mainstream education. He has designed and presented courses to school staff and governors, spoken at adopters training courses and is currently working closely with Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead on building an extended Virtual School support to cover all vulnerable children in the borough’s schools.
