We held our second Emotional and Social Schools Workshop “An Introduction to Developmental Trauma” on Thursday 21st June to over 50 educationalists who came to learn about the impact of trauma on a child’s development and to hear how using Fagus can help schools understand a child’s emotional and social functioning. We are delighted to give just a small insight into how we at Beech Lodge work with these children and how a relationships-based approach can truly work wonders for these pupils.
It was lovely to see friends of the school join us in the audience including Helen Oakwater – trainer and author of “Bubble Wrapped Children” and Siobhan Quigley of the England ACE Aware and Trauma Informed Forum.
We will soon be launching a series of Emotional and Social Schools Workshops with a variety of topics over the next academic year as well as offering training with Cornerstone Partnership’s fantastic Virtual Reality platform to schools. More information will be available on the website in due course.
