Beech Lodge Bandits raise over £1,000 in Charity Football Match

We were delighted to play in the Inaugural Charity Anniversary Cup 5 a side football tournament on Sunday at Maidenhead United Football ground. Our fantastic team – the Beech Lodge Bandits, were up against some sterling opposition from teams from The Maidenhead Advertiser, Shanly Homes and BCA amongst others. Whilst we didn’t make it to the finals, our team played brilliantly! Our wonderful line up comprised: Dan “Safe Hands” Gillespie in goal, Jack “Terrier” Rider attacking, Simon “Snakehips” Hutton, Sarah “The Vixen” Foxton, Gordon “Jock” Mitchell, Rory “The Cat” O’Connor and last but not least our ringer Hugh “Bend it like” Barklem.

Thank you to all our incredible supporters of pupils, parents and staff who turned out in their numbers to jeer at the opposition and cheer on our team! We knew we had some of our pupils with us when over the commentary tannoy we heard familiar young voices shouting “Beech Lodge School Rules!” echoing across the ground. Never underestimate a Beech Lodge child!

To top it all we have so far raised over £1,000 for our chosen charity Braywick Heath Nurseries – a wonderful charity that provides employment support for adults with disabilities and those in need. We have until 2nd May to keep giving so please check out our Just Giving page for more donations!
