Play Therapist (visiting)
What I love about my job:
No two days or sessions are the same, I love the creativity that each child brings into the room, however, the best part of the job is seeing the positive therapeutic change that I can help bring about in a child; especially when they start to see and value their own worth. I get to witness hope and inner strength every day!
Who or what inspires me:
Shame researcher Brene Brown has hugely impacted the way I see myself and those around me. Her passion for cultivating empathy and resilience is something I believe we should all try to achieve. The other person who inspires me is my mum who has dedicated her adult life to supporting children with special educational needs and who encouraged me to become a Play Therapist.
Little known fact about me:
If I am home alone I LOVE turning the music up LOUD and dancing around the kitchen in my socks (the fluffier the better!)
