Outdoor Education Teacher / DofE Co-Ordinator
What I love about my job:
The opportunity and freedom to teach what is real and relevant, delivering an individualised programme of study.
Who or what inspires me:
John Muir (1838-1914) – farmer, inventor, sheepherder, naturalist, explorer, writer and conservationist, also known as “John of the Mountains”.
I got to know John along my journey to becoming a mountain leader. He found peace in nature and recognised how we lose our feeling for being alive by working too much; focusing on material things instead of what brings us joy. He, like me will encourage young people to connect, enjoy and care for wild places. So in the words of John Muir; “Into the forest I go, to lose my mind, and find my soul”
Little known fact about me:
I am married to a superhero!
